I'm constantly amazed by the sneaky synchronicity that's seeming exhibited by the universe. I'm reminded of the Dirk Gently novels by the late, great Douglas Adams (RIP). As you are doubtless aware, Dirk operates a Holistic Detective Agency based on the "fundamental interconnectedness of all things." What this really means is that Dirk relies on random chance methods to uncover connections between seemingly-unrelated cases, but we digress...
As you will recall, we're currently using a 2.8" TFT LCD from Adafruit to implement the Time Portal in the Caveman Diorama (see Coding challenge: Can you enhance this BMP display?).
Just to make sure we're all tap-dancing to the same drum beat, the 2.8" (240 x 320 pixel) display comes equipped with a breakout board carrying a controller and a Micro-SD card holder. The Adafruit libraries require us to use 24 bpp (bits per pixel) BMP images, but we are planning on tweaking the library and reducing the image color depth to 16 bpp, thereby cutting the amount of data being moved around by a third.
