Qualcomm Reportedly Taps TSMC's 7nm
Rick Merritt, EETimes, Jun. 13, 2017 – SAN JOSE, Calif. - Qualcomm will switch back to TSMC to make its 7nm Snapdragon parts after giving its 10nm business to Samsung, according to a report in ET News, a South Korean publication. If correct, the switch will be a huge boost for TSMC and could cause a significant drop in Samsung's foundry business in 2018.
Qualcomm declined to comment on what a spokeswoman characterized as rumors. Samsung and TSMC did not reply to requests for comment.
