S2C Prodigy Quad Virtex UltraScale FPGA Prototyping Logic Module Now Available for Large Scale Designs

Solution Allows for Easy, Cable-Free Design Partitioning and Up to Four Simultaneous Users

San Jose, CA, Jul. 19, 2017 –

S2C, Inc., a leading provider of FPGA-based rapid prototyping solutions, has announced the availability of its Quad VU440 Prodigy Logic Module that supports the latest Xilinx Virtex UltraScale (VU) 440 FPGA. The Quad VU440 Prodigy LM is an all-purpose FPGA prototyping system comprised of a single board. The Quad VU LM's large number of interconnections and vast system logic cell capacity makes it ideal for big designs while easing the partitioning burden. The Prodigy Quad VU Logic Module will be demoed at the Design Automation Conference in Austin, TX, June 19-21 in the S2C Booth #739.

The Quad VU440 Prodigy Logic Modules features:

High Capacity, Scalability, and Reliability

The Quad VU440 Prodigy Logic Module can scale to handle designs up to 22.16M System Logic Cells and 354.4Mb of internal memory. The four on-board DDR4 SO-DIMM sockets can support up to a total of 32GB of memory. Multiple Quad VU Logic Modules can be conveniently connected together to expand capacity, and up to 8 Logic Modules can be configured in a Cloud Cube, enterprise-class prototyping system to support even the largest SoC design.

The system provides the best in reliability with its

LVDS Pin-Multiplexing Interconnection Support

There are 232 physical interconnections 8GB transceivers between the horizontally and vertically adjacent FPGAs that are optimized for pin multiplexing using Low Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS). There are also 192 physical interconnections that are diagonal to the FPGAs. The optional Prodigy Player Pro Compile Software extends, enhances and eases partitioning even more with automatic design partitioning and LVDS pin-multiplexing insertion.

Prodigy Player Pro™ Runtime Software is included and can be run on both Windows and Linux systems to perform basic functions such as FPGA download, write/read on-board SD card for off-line download, clock and reset set-up, I/O voltage settings, hardware monitoring, and self-test. The Player Pro Runtime Software also supports Virtual SWs & LEDs for simple tasks such as changing a setting or indicating a condition remotely, and automatically determining what daughter cards are installed on Logic Modules or cable setups between connectors.

"Our customers have been asking us to develop our powerful and reliable Prodigy VU Logic Modules in a Quad format so they can tackle even larger designs," commented Toshio Nakama, CEO of S2C. "We are please to be able to deliver as promised to ease their large-scale design and partitioning burden. As always, our Quad VU system works with our full line of Prodigy Complete Prototyping Platform solutions."
