Siemens expands automotive engineering software business with new takeover

Following the acquisition of Mentor Graphics, Siemens intends to further broaden its range of engineering software for the automotive industry. The company now announced its intention to acquire TASS International Software, a provider of simulation software and engineering and testing services mainly for the automotive industry.

With TASS, Siemens hopes to strengthen its position in the promising market for autonomous driving. The set of technologies required for this is field one of the main activities of TASS. The company is also active in the areas of integrated safety, advanced driver assistance systems and tire modeling. Headquartered in Helmond (the Netherlands), TASS has a broad range of solutions that will significantly enhance Siemens' PLM software offering and further enhance Siemens' position as a provider of system-driven product development for the global automotive industry.
