India rolls out the red carpet to the semiconductor industry
On July 28, several high-profile members of the semiconductor industry ecosystem converged at Semicon India 2023. Organized by the Government of India under the theme 'Catalysing India's Semiconductor Ecosystem,' the event showcased India's ambitious semiconductor strategy and policy. The vision is to establish India as a global hub for semiconductor design, manufacturing, and technology development. The Prime Minister extended a warm welcome to all participants, encouraging their active involvement, suggestions, and thoughts in this transformative endeavor. Assuring unwavering support, the Government of India promised to stand by the industry leaders at every step of this remarkable journey.
The semiconductor industry ecosystem has recognized India's potential as a promising new territory. As a leading vertically-integrated semiconductor company delivering High-Performance Connectivity Solutions, Alphawave Semi joined an impressive lineup of prominent semiconductor players like Micron, Applied Materials, Lam Research, AMD, IBM, and NXP, contributing to the industry's growth and development in India.
Alphawave Semi Booth and Silicon Demos
Alphawave Semi's expansive booth, adorned with a resounding "Making in India" message, turned out to be a major attraction for a multitude of attendees, enticing them to interact with and delve deeper into the company's offerings for accelerating data connectivity.
Aligned seamlessly with the government's mission of "Make in India," Alphawave Semi showcased cutting-edge chiplet silicon featuring High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and Die-to-Die IP, all developed end-to-end within its engineering design centers in Bangalore and Pune. Notably, Alphawave Semi stood out as the sole booth on the show-floor where visitors could "touch and feel" leading-edge chiplet-based custom silicon in highly advanced 2.5D/3D packaging, adding to the company's prominence at the event.
The exhibition floor was kept open for all six days starting from July 25 – 30 to academia aiming at exposing students and young professionals to the exciting world of chips–often viewed as 'the new oil' of today's world. The main conference was held on July 28 – 30.
Unlock the Future: Delve into the world of Chiplets and Custom Silicon
Chiplets reduce the total die cost at the tradeoff of more complete packaging and manufacturing. Chiplets are at their most cost effective for large die with little redundancy, making favorable heterogenous integrations of application-specific chiplets. On next generation processes, the cost savings will continue to increase; chiplets can save up to 35% of cost of the larger die.
Alphawave Semi's HBM3/2E/2 IP is ideal for applications involving graphics, high-performance computing, high-end networking, and communications that require very high bandwidth, lower latency, and more memory density.
With our end-to-end expertise spanning design to manufacturing of domain optimized SOCs, Alphawave Semi is uniquely positioned to deliver high quality custom silicon in advanced nodes down to 3nm.
