Trade dispute drives RISC-V-Foundation to Switzerland

www.en24.news, Nov. 27, 2019 –

The RISC-V Foundation leaves the US and moves to Switzerland. As Golem claims, citing news reports, the foundation seeks to avoid potential difficulties with the US-China trade dispute. The consortium itself has not yet been directly affected by the trade dispute or an embargo, but some members have corresponding fears, writes “Golem” on.

According to their own information, the umbrella organization has 325 members. Among them are big names from the US like Hewlett Packard Enterprise or IBM. China is represented by Huawei and Alibaba, for example. In addition to technology companies, research institutions are also on board. The ETH and CSEM are from Switzerland.
