Apple A15 Bionic processor features 15 billion transistors manufactured at 5nm

www.guru3d.com, Sept. 15, 2021 –

The A15 Bionic processor, which Apple utilizes in the iPhone 13 series, was manufactured on a 5nm technology. The new soc has 15 billion transistors, which is 3.2 billion more than the predecessor. There will be models with four and five GPU cores, respectively.

The A15 Bionic processor, like the previous two generations of Apple processors, contains six CPU cores, two of which are strong and four of which are cheap in nature. The 16-core Neural Engine is likewise unchanged from the previous generation, but according to Apple, it can now conduct 15.8 trillion calculations per second, an increase from the previous generation's rate of 15.8 trillion computations per second. In the previous generation, it was 11 trillion.

Apple offers two different models of the A15 Bionic. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini both have a variation of the A12 Bionic processor that has four GPU cores, much like prior generations of the processor. Apple's iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are equipped with a GPU with five cores. The A15 Bionic processor, which has five GPU cores, is also included in the new iPad mini. Apple has not revealed any information about the processor and graphics card clock speeds, or about any changes to the chip architecture. However, the company does mention in its presentation that the design of the cores, together with the display engine and image signal processor, has been updated.
