Keysight and KD Partner to Advance Multigigabit Optical Automotive Ethernet Testing with New Signal Analysis Capability
Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) and KD have partnered to develop a comprehensive test solution for Multigigabit Optical Automotive Ethernet physical layer. The collaboration focuses on creating a Transmitter Distortion Figure of Merit (TDFOM) measurement and signal analysis metric for validating PMD transmitter conformance based on IEEE 802.3cz and Open Alliance standards.
www.stocktitan.net/, Jan. 30, 2025 –
The partnership addresses the growing demands of modern vehicles, which contain over 100 million lines of code and require higher-speed backbone communications. The IEEE 802.3cz standard, published in 2023, supports operations up to 50 Gb/s over glass optical fiber, with specifications for 2.5-, 5-, 10-, 25-, and 50-Gb/s operations in automotive environments.
The solution combines KD's software-based reference receiver and signal metric analysis capabilities with Keysight's optical-to-electrical converter and oscilloscope technology to evaluate transmitted optical signals' performance in achieving required system Bit Error Rate through worst-case optical channels.
