Intel Bets on the "Internet of Things" With Latest Acquisition

It seems like every major tech company is making a play for the Internet of Things, and Intel plans to keep a solid footing as that industry takes off. The chip-maker is already racing to own the connected home, and now it may have found the final piece of its own puzzle.
Intel announced plans to acquire Lantiq, a German broadband and networking gear company on Monday. The deal should be closed within three months. It's worth $400 million, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The smaller company will be swallowed up by Intel?s Client Computing Group, which has led the firm's charge into the Internet of Things.
