French power management specialist Silicon Mobility has opened an office in Munich led by its new vice president of global sales.

The company, based in Sohia-Antipolis, develops field programmable power management chips and design tools for electric motors, battery and energy management systems of hybrid and electric vehicles. The Munich office will focus on providing support to German OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers and will be headed by Ewald Liess, who was recently appointed from Micronas having worked at Gennum, Infineon and Motorola.
"Silicon Mobility is experiencing incredible market traction. More than 20 automotive companies in Europe, Japan and USA are already engaged in evaluations and proof of concept developments, enjoying the benefits of OLEA FPCU, OLEA Composer and OLEA Lib" said Bruno Paucard, President and CEO of Silicon Mobility.
