Infineon gets go ahead for Cypress acquisition
About-turn in the question of acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor by Infineon: On March 9, 2020, the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States ("CFIUS") completed its review of the proposed acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation by Infineon Technologies AG. Only recently, the news service Bloomberg reported that CFIUS had reservations about this takeover.

Infineon now reports that CFIUS has approved the transaction. However, the completion of the acquisition remains subject to approval by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) of China and other customary closing conditions under the Acquisition Agreement.
