Revolutionizing the Road Ahead

The automotive industry is undergoing drastic changes. Technological innovations such as in-vehicle infotainment (IVI), advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), telematics and autonomous driving (AD) are playing a more central role in the landscape. To meet the demand for these functions in vehicles, the market requires high performance semiconductor products. Products must be designed for enhanced computing power, data processing, sensing capabilities and improved connectivity.

As a leader in the semiconductor industry, Samsung is committed to creating a safer, more sustainable and more connected mobility experience for its customers and communities through its efforts and commitment to future mobility. The company plans to revolutionize the automotive industry not just by offering reliable technological solutions, but also by fostering collaboration. Samsung describes this commitment as 'Revolutionizing the Road Ahead,' and plans to enact this vision both now and as it embarks on a journey with partners to achieve success in future mobility.

Setting the Table for Partnership

As part of its vision for mobility, Samsung recognizes the importance of working together with industry stakeholders. For instance, Samsung's Memory business already works with more than 60 automotive customers. Additionally, its memory solutions can be validated with diverse systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), meaning customers can tailor systems and platforms according to their needs.

Samsung's Foundry business has built its Samsung Advanced Foundry Ecosystem (SAFE™), which enables partnership among diverse fields for automotive semiconductor innovation. These include Intellectual Property (IP), Electronic Design Automation (EDA), Design Service, Cloud and Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT).

As for Samsung's System LSI business, it cooperates with Tier 1 automotive suppliers to develop their reference platforms with Samsung's automotive processors and IPs for features such as gesture recognition, vision processing, Hi-Fi audio, PC-level graphics and multi-displays. Cooperating with automotive suppliers to develop these features enables manufacturers to design vehicles much more easily. Samsung also engages in software and hardware cooperation with diverse partners in the sensor industry to ensure a safe driving experience. As the company revolutionizes the road ahead, these partnerships will prove to be crucial.
