Oulu stregthens its position as a high-tech ecosystem in Europe, driven by a thriving semiconductor industry that leverages its legacy in wireless technologies and focuses on innovation, collaboration, and education to meet demand.
Finland is emerging as a key player in the global semiconductor landscape, driven by the ambitious ‘Chips from the North’ initiative, which intends to strengthen Finland’s position in semiconductor manufacturing, research, and design by 2035. Current projections indicate growth from the existing €1.6bn in revenue to between €5bn and €6bn, and the simultaneous creation of thousands of new jobs.
