TSMC to Build Three New 2 nm Fabs in Taiwan for $28 Billion

Liberty Times reports that TSMC is preparing to build three more 2 nm fabs in Taiwan, with a combined investment of roughly NT$900 billion (about $28 billion). The sites will likely be located near the Southern Taiwan Science Park. According to the report, TSMC originally planned seven 2 nm fabs, two in Hsinchu's Baoshan district and five in Kaohsiung's Nanzi district. The three new facilities would raise the total to 10, as demand for advanced nodes continues to climb.
