Samsung nears 2nm foundry deal with AMD as it closes gap with TSMC

Samsung Electronics is reportedly in advanced discussions with AMD to produce chips using its next generation 2nm process technology, as the tech giant accelerates efforts to narrow the gap with leading foundry competitor TSMC.
Industry sources indicate that Samsung’s Device Solutions Division, through its Foundry Business Unit, is negotiating to manufacture AMD-designed processors on its second-generation 2nm node, known as SF2P. A final decision on the partnership is expected as early as January.
